This print is part of my 2020 series which explores humans' impact on Earth’s natural trajectory via stratigraphy (the study of rock layers). The rocks have eroded into rhythmic forms whilst remaining a visible time line of how they came to be.
This is a high resolution print on Hahnemuhle rag paper, 308gsm.
Size: 27cm x 47cm
Series one, 1 of 4.
I have carefully selected the packaging for the artworks to minimise the impact on the planet, while still ensuring safe delivery. After delivery the packaging is ready to be recycled - please take the time to help reduce waste!
The artworks are wrapped in tissue paper, followed by a recyclable paper alternative to bubble wrap, from sustainable forests. Paper tape is used to fasten. The product is then placed inside a 100% recycled plastic courier bag.
While I aimed to eliminate plastic from the packaging, plastic helps to ensure products are not damaged by water. "Compostable" packaging alternatives have come a long way, but those available in Aotearoa are designed to break down in commercial composts. These are rare in New Zealand, and the bags may not break down in a natural environment. I selected to use 100% recycled plastic instead, ensuring no new plastic is used, and my products aren't creating any additional waste.
